The performance on a HD4000 (Intel, ivy bridge) compared to an even older integrated (numbed down laptop version) gpu is rather disappointing.
My HD4000 is superior in all ways compared to my laptop's integrated gpu in everything, though it performs worse in AC3D? Does anyone have a clue why? It also freezes for a few seconds when I change selections. But despite feeling even choppier in normal view it is noticeably faster in the wired view. My specs are: Intel I5 3570k (with HD4000 integrated gpu) 8 gig ram asrock Z77 extreme 4 motherboard WD caviar blue hdd The specs of my laptop are: Intel core 2 duo 2.20ghz (with some old integrated 4 series gpu) 2gig ram unknown mobo WD unknown hdd The model has just a little under 69K triangles. What about OS?
If Windows, only the 64bit will use the 8Gb, well 7Gb actually.

Graphics card?
I use an old one Nvidia GeForce 7950 GT (512Mb), but it copes well, even driving two monitors.

It sounds like poor drivers on Intel's part. I assume you already updated them to the latest version?

Would have to be the reason then. What Windows Experience Index do you get, as it will report lower values for all major components.
I get 5.9 with my PC.

I don't see how the fact that it is integrated as a reason for it to perform worse then a 4 year old (also) integrated one.
