I would like to import .3D2 file format in AC3D. These files are produced by Cyber-Studio from Tom Hudson on ATARI ST machines. It's the ancestor of the .3DS format. I tried to convert these files with i3DConverter, but it is not working at the moment. Is there a way to import .3D2 files into AC3D ?
Thanks for helping ![]() |

I've not come across 3D2 files before.
A quick search shows that a Windows program called Quick3D would load it. You might be able to find a download that would allow you to convert it to a more AC3D friendly format. |

Thanks for your answer
![]() Unfortunately both "i3DConverter_v1.50" and "quick3D_Pro_4" fail opening my .3D2 file from Cyber-Studio on ATARI ST. These softwares crash when I load the 3D model. I sent report to the author, when it is possible. I hope I'll have an answer. The only thing I can do for the moment is converting from .3D2 to Pov-Ray, because I have an ATARI command line tool that does it correctly. But on-line converters do not recognize the 3D format, testing two of those. The .3D2 file seems to be recognized, but a program failure happens. These 3D files were built quite a long time ago, about 1988, if I remember well. That produces the following animation http://eureka.atari.org/pacman.mov with Pov-Ray rendering. |

I succeeded converting the 3D2 model of a character, talking to the author of the converter. Finally it gives the following Virtual Reality Modelling Language rendering :
