That's pretty cool! It was a very interesting effect that the image produced. Keep up the good work!

Re: Illusion of the day
That's awesome!
Just curious... what are you using to make the 3D models into paper models? Do you have software that helps you figure out the folds, or did you do that by hand? Either way, it's really, really cool. |

Re: Illusion of the day
Yeah, I'd love to have a program like that. Back two years ago in my geometry class, we had to make real 3d models out of single sheets of paper. I decided to use my Type 26 Shuttle model and it was a pain to get the paper just right to fold. If there's a program to make that process easier, I'd love to know about it.
(PS The model I made was the best model made by anyone in the class, because everyone else just made what amounted to extruded surfaces. Your models probably wouldn't be allowed in a tenth grade class, but they're way better than any of the things in there, even better than my shuttle model in terms of the fold intricacy haha!)

Yes, I am using software...
It is call Pepakura Designer2. http://www.tamasoft.co.jp/pepakura-en/ It works really well. But, you have to have a simple model.. Hope this helps. Grease |

I can imagine on keeping it simple; I see how complicated the bottle looks to fold and cut. Wow, that must have taken you a while! My son is really into origami ...to clarify, he's in high school, so he does serious I-didn't-know-you-could-make-that-with-paper origami. I'm going to let him take a crack at your model, I'm sure he'll get a kick of it. |
