A new plugin is available for exporting the selected geometry's UV map to a .BMP file.
http://supercoldmilk.com/ac3dplug/exportuv.html Sorry, this is Windows-only at the moment, and I have no immediate plans to support file formats outside of BMP files. Good for texture templates / painting textures that conform to your geometry. This is an alternative to using the "Copy to clipboard" function of the TCE, as it creates a more precisely-sized image, plus you can create images larger than your screen resolution. Note that this only copies the UV's, not the texture map itself, and UV's outside of the 0-1 range are not exported. Dennis |

You can select the geometry for which you want to export the UV's and look at it in the Texture Coordinate Editor (TCE - press F10). Whatever you see inside the black box in the TCE will be what is exported as an image. "UV's outside of the 0-1 range" refers to anything outside the black bordered box in the TCE. Quote:
Hope that helps. |

Your best bet is to check out the AC3D manual on the Texture Coordinate Editor (TCE). This page also has some useful info on using the TCE:
http://www.ac3d.org/ac3d/tutorials/carbody/index.html Once you've learned how to use the TCE, the UV map exporter will probably make a lot more sense. One of our fellow users posted a TCE tutorial, but it appears to be offline? I remember it being a well-done video --- perhaps someone still has it to share... http://www.ac3d.org/forum/showthread.php?t=3291 Good luck, Dennis |
