How to make holes in things?
Hey there, im absolute a newb in modelling. But its a dream to model good... Im asking how u make round holes in models, and how u make a cab in one model etc... Im trying to model farm things, like trailers etc... But, i got alot of things, normally one model is one piece. So, heres a video from what i mean: http://inivis.com/tutorials/flange.mov I cant get that... In other things to... I dont have the surface>create mesh thing.. I hope you can understand what i mean. There's a couple of ways to tackle it.
If you have multiple parts, you can merge the objects, then use the Vertex > Create Ordered Surface tool to build the faces to join the parts together. Also, a lot of people use a technique called "box modelling". You start with a box, and keep extruding surfaces until it looks like what you want. As for not have "surface>create mesh"... do you mean the command is missing? That, I don't know. What version of AC3D are you using? |

If I understand you correctly..... to make a round hole in something go to the help tab in AC3D, select the manual, and look at the section on 'boolean operations'. The manual gives excellent examples on how to acheive it.
