Re: My latest work
The hull and rigging are about 53,000 surfaces - 444 objects.
The full interior is about 31,000 - 930 objects Miscellaneous parts - sails, boom, rudder, prop, instruments, somewhere around 8,000 surfaces. The entire model as an .x file is about 16MB. For this Sim I have two versions..... 1. The boat with reduced interior, just the main salon and nav station. 9.5MB 2.. Full version. 16MB. |

Re: My latest work
Yep, this one actually took 4 months.
Other pressing issues, and a smoking and crackling computer meltdown right in the middle of modeling her. Most models for this Sim I try to keep below 80,000 poly's. They are all considered high poly. This one is the exception, because of the size and detail of the full interior. On average each boat takes 150 hours to complete. I lost track on this one, but I would guess 250 - 300 hours!! |

Re: My latest work
What program did you model the hull and sails in?
Wow, I'm going to have to get that virtual Sailor program. I had no idea! |

Re: My latest work
I used DelftShip for the hull and sails.
All of the rest is in AC3d. Vehicle Simulator is the latest 'replacement' for Virtual Sailor. I love them both. The Simulators http://hangsim.com/ My Boat Shop http://www.graphic-park.com/VS_WIP/The%20Shop/index.htm |
