Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
version 8.3 content a lot nice changes if compare with previous version 8.0
but.. if 8.0 is last x32 build - i have not serious reasons atm for upgrade tell me please, compiling for x32 in last build, is 1-2 mouse clicks for change compilation options, why not? if win7 x32 some more time has support by MS up to 2020 did you think all peoples using only 64bit versions, seriously? )). is not fair please after beta, in release version build x32 last one time may be? ) i know, its not so difficult i mean not only me using win7 last years with some reasonts also, windows 10 same has 32-bit version Last edited by froqus; 11th December 2018 at 03:49 AM. Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
Hi Frogus,
Unfortunately, it's not that simple. If it was, we'd keep supporting 32 bit. There were a huge number of changes required to get AC3D into 64 bit and it would be very difficult to go back. It's not just the AC3D code and build processes (on three different platforms) but multiple support libraries that AC3D uses. The decision was made to concentrate only on 64 bit since the vast majority of computers sold now, and for the last few years. benefit from having a 64 bit operating system and memory/hardware. AC3D 8 will continue to work on your machine - it will not time out. |

Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
Hi Andy,
I'm owning 8.0.8 and I'm within the upgrade period. I downloaded the 8.3 trial. 1) How can I get the trial to a fully licenced version? or 2) If I upgrade in the upgrade-center, is 8.3 installed as a separate version on the PC? Or does it change the 8.0.8? For some time, I want to have both versions working (8.3 still beta) Thanks |

Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
Enter your license key into 8.3 via the help menu.
Yes - you can install both versions at once. Quote:

Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
Hello, I'm just testing a little bit the 8.3 version and
hoped to get a "sculpty extrude" explanation in the new help-menu, but this is still missing! I'd like to use this command quite often, but with a defined distance! I didn't find a setting for the distance. Am I doing something wrong or do I need another command-combination. Thanks. |

Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
This extrude function is added by the third party Second Life plugin.
It does an extrusion and tries to preserve a valid texture map. The distance each surface is moved is proportional to the surface area. Using it with Sculpties (the shapes that can be used in Second Life) allows more detail to be added without corrupting the texture map. For more info - see Help->About-plugins and select the Second Life plugin. Quote:

Re: AC3D 8.3 Beta Available
Thanks Andy,
as mentioned this would be a nice command for AC3D, too, in my wished version. But now, I found a relevant solution. Select the surface, switching to vertex, extrude edges, cut away the "inner surface", and move it, too. Getting familiar, more and more. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to you and all the others Gogo |
