Filename bug trashes saved files
Hi!
I have found a rather nasty bug, that makes your saved files unreadable. AC3D does not handle filenames correctly. If you use native characters and saves a file, one native character get messed up, and exchanged by 2 other. This behavior looks to me (from my work with web programing) as utf-8 characters stored as ascii. If you save a file, this file name comes up correct in the top of the window of the program. But the characters are wrong in the open file dialog, and if you open the folder/map on the computer. How ever, this is not the big problem. You cant open these files in AC3D. So many of my saved models I have made is now lost work :-( This is totally unacceptable. But lucky me found that you can load these files if you change the filename AND DON'T use any native characters at all. So correcting these messed up chars don't work. I was worried fore a while that I had lost several of my 3D models I'm using AC3D 6.5.28 on windows 7, 64bit version. |
