Another update (progress is slow). The modeling phase is nearly complete, just needs a few more details added.

Great update Dennis.
Just curious, where did you render that last update ?
Because I like the look of that picture (white material + shadows).

The materials are default AC3D materials (the model is the base white (#1) and the floor is the "soft blue" (#8).

It was imported into Lightwave and rendered using global illumination with a pure white, 100% luminous "skydome".

This model actually triggered a bug in my AC3D -> LightWave exporter that needs to be fixed --- not all pieces were exported and I ended up merging the objects together in AC3D before exporting to get all objects carried over. I'll be working on the LightWave exporter to fix this issue sometime in the future.

Thanks rnlobo . Kidding aside, fortunately, AC3D has every tool built-in to 99% of the modeling I need ... ugh, I would hate to have to keep exporting/importing during the modeling phase...

Another update --- skin texture. The darkened contours will show up better in a render, and the face will get specular highlights as well, just "fleshing out" (ha) the raw textures.

Also, the more I look at this guy, the more I dislike his chin. May go in for some reconstruction there...
