im unable to load textures into ac3d

The only textures im able to load are the secondlife ones (samples) and copies of sample/default secondlife textures.For other texture formats such as: png, jpeg, jpg, tga, giff etc. ac3d says it has loaded texture but nothing shows in any of the views nor in the texture coordinate editor.

I have had this problem on an earlier version of ac3d, but one day it suddenly started working perfectly.... Until i installed the new version, is this a bug or is my computer screwing things up.....?? (iv´e reinstalled it twice...still doesnt work)

Have you switched textures off by pressing 't' (or using the orth/3d menus)?

Try loading a background image and see if that shows (menu above each orth window).

this is what it says when i try to load background image:
Failed to load' C:/Documents and settings/Administrator...........

I have turned textures off and then on by using t key.....still no textures when i try to load.

looked in orth menu and it is set to show textures

Open to more suggestions lol....

Btw how do u upload a `snapshot´ of a program window??

To one of these messages, can you attach one of the images you are trying got use as a background image so we can try it out.

That image works fine as a background image and as a texture here.

Check that you have the latest drivers for your graphics card. Also check that you screen depth is set to 24 or 32 bit.

I changed screen depth/resolution to 32 and updated graphics card driver (no new ones where found), the card I have is an ati mobility radeon 7500.....which should be enough I think.

I still cant load background images nor textures....except the SL samples....very odd....

Which images did load correctly?

Are you running any compatibily modes on your system (e.g. it it's 64 bit etc)?

Just a guess, try to put your background image / textures in a folder that contains no spaces nor special characters (ex : c:\test) and see if that helps.

Lucky guess lol, it works!

The long names and such must have screwed things up, i moved folder to C:\ and now i can load both backgrounds and textures.....

Finally lol, thanks for all the help....both of you!
