I am vacillating re purchasing. My toolchain is Solid edge -> Simlab export.obj plugin -> ac3d -> X-plane Planemaker
Using the demo of ac3d - I modeled a small instrument in Solidedge then into ac3d and have spent 16 hours trying to map textures and then get the instrument into x-plane in the correct location/ orientation . Has anyone successfully implemented the above process and are there any tutorials on such a process flow works . |

Yes thanks that is where I started BUT the devil seems to be in the details . I am hoping that he does a video of how to make a simple panel with 2 instruments on eg Airspeed and Manifold pressure . This is typically what real world pilots want to do . I have 3 airplanes ( full size ) and would like to model my instrument panels . Most planes are very much the same as received from the factory BUT panels and avionics are what varies.
An end to end tutorial from a 3D cad system eg solidedge , solidworks to the panle in the plane would be great for us all. |
