Default Assembing multiple objects outside of AC3D

I'm constructing an object from multiple sub objects, but they will need to be constructed outside of the modeler when done, in a game, so to speak.

Have you guys done this and what tricks do you use inside AC3D to help you decide proper placement outside of AC3D?

It is possible to do, by making the assembly inside AC3D match, then selecting each object and save as selected, each with a unique name.

However, without knowing what the game engine does, in regards to a native position, it may well consider each object at 0,0,0, and you are no further forward.

I see. Well, this is a first attempt, so I'm not exactly experienced. I think I'll try saving in their modeled positions first.
