Default Importing .wrl files result in -group

Hello

I try to import geometry, to further process it (animate for X-Plane).
The .wrl files are imported as group, and not al poly, which I would need to animate it. Is there a way to go one step back from the group to generate a poly? Or is there a way to specify the import?
.stl would also work, but AC3D seems not able to really read that, sadly.

Any input much apprechiated.
Happy new Year

Luke

Although the object may be a named "group" it is probably still a standard poly object. Check the Tools->Hierarchy to see the structure loaded.

If there is some kind of hierarchy, you can flatten it and put all the geometry in a single object with merge or a copy/paste.

Andy, thanks for your input.
However, I'm not able either to merge (since it's already a single -group, nor does copy paste works.

Yet I found a way: Export it as X-Plane Obj 8, and open it again. Like this a 'poly' is created, just as I need it.
