Okay, if anyone remembers my last phaser design, you'll recall that it was, well, unconventional. I've never been too good at designing weapons. I'm not done with this model, but I think that it's going to be an improvement over the last one (25.0.1 I believe)

What I want to find is a really good way to make a pulse fire effect like seen on this site: http://www.trekmeshes.ch/
If they had a .obj, .lwo, .3ds or something like that, I could put it in my renderer, but all they have is a .max

But the part of the texture that will be completely transparent must be completely black (R,V,B = 0,0,0). So you have to work a little bit on the gray scale (just a little bit). Then you create a rectangle in AC3D, assign the texture (with the colors) to it, place that rectangle where appropriate, map as you want (I suppose you only need 1 of the 5 pulse fire effects), and export an OBJ file. Then in PoseRay ... (your textures paths will be different of course) : ![]() The result is good (I've mapped 2 pulse fire effects at once in my case) : ![]() Here is the gray scale picture you can use : ![]() Cheers !
