69' Camaro WIP
My latest vehicle i'm doing for Rigs of rods. I actually modeled this last year, but I never completed it. So i'm re-doing bits a pieces for better detail. The Ac3d pic is from today's work, the renders are from last year when it was still really low poly (1600 vertice total). I don't know how to render that well, but I thought they looked cool 8)
I'll update as I make progress (rims, disk brakes, interior) and some in game footage doing burnouts and what not  Last edited by Box5; 28th May 2009 at 10:49 PM. |

Re: 69' Camaro WIP
Got it in game now, starting to add the detail pieces. Gotta love how easy it is to get the shape you want in ac3d.

Re: 69' Camaro WIP
Sharp! Polycount looks pretty reasonable, too.

I think that is very efficent, I do stuff for a low poly game and like to see the way guys do it ... you would be a big hit in my world

Re: 69' Camaro WIP
what game do you make things for?
I try to keep poly count as low as possible while still getting the best shape I can, mainly because FPS will drop fast with higher poly vehicles. Theres this thing called Flexbody which deforms the mesh when you crash. Thats where low poly really matters, since the game calculates all the vertice's as they deform. It feels great to make something that looks nice, and then drive it into a wall though I think alot of guys here who make vehicles would love this game, it adds alot more to modeling than just making still renders. It's addicting. Last edited by Box5; 9th June 2009 at 03:40 PM. |
