Default SDK licence

(sorry if this question has already been asked)

I'm about to release an export plugin for ac3d.
I want to distribute my plugin with its source, which need ac_plugin.h to compile.
Can i freely distribute this file (or other needed from the SDK, like ac3d.lib if i port it to win32)?

thank you.
(ac3d rocks!)

Hi Case,

Please do not distribute the SDK or parts of the SDK with your code.

Instead, direct people to www.ac3d.org and let them know what version of AC3D your plugin works with.

If you feel that your plugin would be widely useful to others, you can send it to me and it will be included with the main plugin pack (for all supported platforms). (Ensure you use the about/info functions to give yourself credit).

Also ensure you announce your plugin on this forum (in tutorials and other resources).

What is your plugin for?

Andy

thx for the answer.

My plugin export mesh to the Orbiter Space Simulation file format :

http://www.medphys.ucl.ac.uk/~martins/orbit/orbit.html

this file format is pretty strange and may only consern people involved with Orbiter
developpement, so i don't think it's usefull to include this to the main plugin
pack.

Here it is:

I think my package is ok with Andy wishes (if not you have something like 10 hours before
i release it to the orbiter community...)

Any comments are welcome.

Looks great!

You might want to check the AC3D version number in the plugin-init function. Return -1 if it's not valid (since the plugin may need recompiling against future versions of AC3D).

Also mention which version of AC3D the pluigin is written for, in the readme.
