Odin wip
I havent had the time to model anything lately. Have had more than enough working on my house, doing the bathroom and some other stuff. But now the frenzy is more or less over thank you. So I hade a couple of hours to spare. This is a exploration ship and its BIG. I will post some more when I have some screen grabs from AC3D, and some more renders of it.

Re: Odin wip
Great model Thor --- you've really nailed the proportions to give the ship a sense of "weight". Is this an original design? Either way, excellent as always!

Re: Odin wip
Here is a render from the BACK of the ship with the THRUSTER visible
I started out with a cube and no reference on this ship Dennis, so I guess you can say its an original. Your greeble plug was a big helper to place most of the smaller custom greeble thingys. The ship was really easy to make, cos its only the same two blocks resized, duplicated and extruded here and there.

Re: Odin wip
thats pretty interesting thor. I would have suspected that you made it from a block. my only question is how did you manage to create that ship?

Re: Odin wip
Hi Thor,
just wanted to say what a great spacecraft design! Though the ship looks quite simple in design in the X-Y-Z views, from a projected angle you really get a sense of 'scale', proportion and is very dramatic-looking! Agreed, I've found the greeble tool fantastic to use and found out its benefits by accident on my first model, to which I'm now using in my designs on a regular basis. I have a few ideas for additional features for the tool, but I'll post them in the appropriate forum section. Do you intend to add any colour to the image (decals etc) or are you happy with the result? Cheers Steve

Re: Odin wip
you know If I didn't know any better thor this looks almost like my funnel method I put up here on the formus.
Did you use the funnel method to create the ship?

Re: Odin wip
Your "funnel method" looks like plain ol' extruding to me. Nothing that hasent been done before in the modeling community. You have just called it something else.

Re: Odin wip
well it's the way you use the extruding that makes a difference. no reason to be so negative.
