Default Re: Latest AC3D X-Plane plugin

Hi Andy,
Thanks for the update! I just tried the new X-Plane plugins and here's what I got:

I
800
OBJ

TEXTURE dev_int_02.png
TEXTURE_LIT dev_int_02_LIT.png
TEXTURE_NORMAL dev_int_02_normal.png
NORMAL_METALNESS
BLEND_GLASS
POINT_COUNTS 17184 0 0 52179

The "NORMAL_METALNESS" AND "BLEND_GLASS" directives are mutually exclusive, so it should be one or the other. Also, it would be nice to have the "GLOBAL_specular 1.0" written to the header every time as a checkbox option.

Thanks!

I tried to open some X-Plane V11 OBJ files using this X-Plane plugin, and received zero triangles imported. I believe that I followed the instructions exactly. Should we expect this X-Plane plugin to work with X-Plane V11 OBJ files?
Thanks, Ranny

It’s a collision with the wavefront obj plugin (which also handles .obj files).

move plugins/obj_import.p out of the plugins (or rename it to a different fiel extension e.g. obj_import.p.old) and restart AC3D.

Fix coming soon.

Thank you - that worked. I am new to AC3D and will try to learn how to manipulate the model.

The X-Plane plugins have been updated.

The current version is now 3.4b3.

Please see the first message of this thread for the download links. http://www.inivis.com/forum/showthread.php?t=7032

Previous versions of the plugin could cause hangs and slowdowns when updating some objects. This one has been tested by a few people and it solved the problem for them. It was also reported that this version feels a bit faster - I'd be interested to know if others notice this.

This is great, Andy, thanks! The hanging problem when selecting multiple X-Plane objects is fixed and it does seem faster for me. Awesome!

Hello Andy, congratulations so far for the 8.3 in particular for the new UV surface tool. Does the new plugin supports the VR magnet?

I second this!!! I cant think of how many hours of my life I've spent just having to manually edit the exported files just to get them to use the PBR model, and its just about adding that one line to the beginning of the export.

Would this be possible?

Thanks for your hard work!!!

Hi Andy,

I recently got AC3D v8 and you latest x-plane plugin, but I noticed that the windows of the x-plane plugin are all the time in the foreground, even when I'm working on an other application. The windows of the AC3D tools go to the background when an other application is in foreground, but not the ones from the x-plane plugin. Is this just in my case or is it a bug? As you can see in the attached picture "TextEdit" is in foreground, but the x-plane plugin windows stay in foreground.

Also the "animation time" window seems to have a bug (maybe only in my case). As you can see the window continues to the right after the vertical scroll bar. Not a very big bug, but sometimes a little bit irritating.

I hope I could describe everything clearly and my english isn't that bad

Thank you in advance.

Best Regards,
J

P.S.: I'm using OSX 10.13.6 High Sierra
