Orbiter MSH Import/Export for AC3DReleased under the GNU LESSER GENERAL PUBLIC LICENSE.
This plugin allows the import/export of MSH files for use with the Orbiter space flight simulator.
This plugin and its source are freely distributable
AC3D versions prior to version 5 have not been tested with this plugin.
Provides import/export support for Orbiter MSH files.
Added support for LABEL tags for both import and export of MSH files.
The following are known or suspected limitations with the Orbiter MSH import/export.
Tags (GROUPS, MATERIALS, etc) are assumed to be all upper-case. Lowercase or mixed-case tags are not imported.
Because there are no directory paths in MSH files for textures, textures are assumed to be in the same directory as the imported mesh. A future release may include a user-defined path to Orbiter's MSH texture directory/folder.
Only one material per object is supported. If more than one material is contained in an ac3d object, an arbitrary material from the available materials in the object is used. This may be fixed in a future release.
MSH files are not sorted by transparent material/textures. Early alpha testing showed this to be a non-issue, and the feature was omitted due to time constraints. If this is raised as an issue by other users, we can introduce a sort fix here to ensure transparent elements are pushed to the end of the output file.
Material transparency is applied to all aspects of a material (diffuse/ambient/specular/emissive).
InstallationCopy the msh_export.p and msh_import.p files (included with this distribution) to your AC3D scripts folder (for example, if using Windows, C:\Program Files\AC3D5\scripts) and (re)start AC3D.
