Hi all
I can't seem to export smoothing groups along with the model and they seem to be inverted (.3ds) is this a bug? Nice forum BTW JimB |

Hi Jim,
The current 3DS exporter doesn't output smoothing information. It's likely that the next version will support smoothing in the 3ds files. >they seem to be inverted (.3ds) is this a bug? Do you mean that surfaces are facing the wrong direction? Which software are you loading the 3ds file into? Andy |

I have used gmax to check the exporters output.
Check that the normals are facing the right way. If you set all surfaces to single sided (1S button) any surfaces that are facing the wrong way will appear 'invisible' from one side. If there's still a problem, please send me the ac3d file and I'll have a look through the 3DS export code. Andy |
