absolute rotation
i must be missing something. is there no way to enter the absolute rotation of a object ins ac3d? just type in x=0 y=0 z=90? if not its the first 3d modeling program i have ever seen that does not have this function.

Re: absolute rotation
If I understand your question correctly, it's on the left side where it says rotate.

Re: absolute rotation
no. that will add or subtract rotataion. i need to just put in the rotaion as a vector. and set it. say my object is at some un-known rotation and i want to set it at 0 0 45 i need to be able to type that in and just set it. its realy odd that its not in this program.

Re: absolute rotation
You are correct in that it doesn't have "absolute" rotation, as technically AC3D doesn't have rotation at all. Once an object is rotated in AC3D, it modifies the vertices themselves and that is the new, permanent position. Rotation is a pretty common feature request. (Probably wouldn't hurt to bump the thread in "suggestions" or send a feature request to support.) I'm keeping my fingers crossed for this one myself.
What are you trying to do? Maybe I can help. |

Re: absolute rotation
Doh! Not sure what to recommend other than try rotating the same amount the opposite direction. Short of that--assuming you don't know how much it was rotated by--my best recommendation is guess-and-check. You can change the number of degrees for the mouse-rotate in the settings; that and turning on the grid might be helpful if you are trying to eyeball it.
